Easter

I always love Easter. The flowers are blooming, the weather is warming, everything is coming alive! The best part is celebrating our Savior, Jesus Christ, who is ALIVE

I loved singing Glorious Day in church on Sunday--especially this verse:

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose, over death He had conquered
Now He's ascended, my Lord evermore

Death could not hold Him
The grave could not keep Him from rising again

Living He loved me, dying He saved me
And buried He carried my sins far away
Rising He justified freely forever
One day He's coming, oh, glorious day, oh, glorious day
Glorious day

After church we had a wonderful meal with family and friends. Lucy loved hunting for eggs! She takes the whole process quite seriously. She also ate entirely too much chocolate and has been on a sugar high ever since. We got her this great book for Easter too! I highly recommend it!!

Hope you all had a wonderful day
 celebrating our RISEN Lord!

Happy Spring!

We were playing with all of the FUN spring stuff at Pottery Barn Kids yesterday. I got some great inspiration for the girls' new room too! But the best part of the outing was this picture of Annie.

Which happens to resemble this picture of Lucy taken at PB kids 2 years ago. =)

Happy Spring!!

This and That

Well, it's no secret. I LOVE The Pioneer Woman. Her recipes are out of this world, she's down to earth and funny, she is super chic--even living out in the middle of nowhere, etc., etc.

Anyway, I ordered her cookbook from Amazon with some b-day $$. Woo-hoo! Let me tell ya, it all looks entirely too delicious. :) Carey was in heaven as he browsed through it. He expects way too much from me now. Haha!

I also ordered her love story-- Black Heels to Tractor Wheels.

I finished the book in 2 days. I was a fun easy read. It was clean, sweet, romantic, funny and sad. Even though our circumstances are obviously different, I think many women can relate to Ree Drummond in a lot of ways. She is definitely an inspiring woman.

In other news, it snowed AGAIN yesterday. I thought winter had it's last hoo-rah last week when it snowed....and the week before that when it snowed. It is officially spring now so snow should not be falling anymore. Me and Lucy are dying to get outside and play at the park and visit the petting zoo and take walks and go to the pool.

Look at those cute little chubby legs! I love babies in swim wear. :) I would totally put her in a little bikini if I didn't have double the skin to lather with sunscreen.

Happy Monday.

Spring Day

Lucy and I have been enjoying today at home.
The windows are open and it is glorious outside!
Carey accidentally took the keys to my car this morning....
SO we're stuck. That's ok.
We've been having fun.
This cute face greeted me this morning.

We played dress up with Mommy's stuff.

And we gave each other pedicures.

(There's that pesky orange crab again. The same one that found his way into my bed sheets the other morning. You never know where he'll show up. Ha.)

We laughed and played and sang songs.

And did a little cleaning. Ok, a LOT of cleaning.
And lots of laundry too.

Sometimes she is simply irresistible!
Happy Wednesday!

A Day at the Zoo

Life has been pretty crazy around here. I have been horrible about updating my blog. Can't promise it will get better anytime soon.....but we can always hope. :)

Last week the weather was beautiful. Spring came for an early visit--but sadly, decided not to stay long. While it was here we took advantage of the warm days. Where better to enjoy the outdoors (while entertaining Lucy to the fullest) but the ZOO!

Lucy was fascinated by the polar bear. When he came up close she would yell, "Oh My!"

And when you're 14 months old, life doesn't get any better than meerkats.

There were tigers and monkeys and camels and elephants.....

And piggy back rides on Daddy.....

We had tons of fun.

Can't wait for more Spring days at the zoo!
